The Journey

AT LAST! – CORSICA

(20/06/2013)

Once, when I was young, I travelled to Bonifacio with Martin, Rob, and Nick for a spot of sailing.  Well after basic research and some advice from “Tour De Force” it was clear that it is still not easy to get to Corsica.

Le Grande Depart is in Porto Vecchio, nearly half way up on the right.

Some further research showed that there is a ferry from Marseille direct to Porto Vecchio.  I mean off on a cycling holiday and I get to go on a big boat.

Marseille was pleasant round the old port area, there was even some artistic photography:

So, the big boat:

An overnight sailing to Porto Vecchio, meant I arrived early this Thursday morning well rested.

The hotel was found with no bother (its right next to the Port), so a hearty breakfast then exploring the town before I could get into the room.

Nice place this Porto Vecchio.

Oh, and the food here is much, much better than in Marseille.

AND THE JOURNEY STARTS

The consolation for any early start, a window seat in the lounge.

This might be my new favourite seat.

The planes have started to land, so far BA 5 , SAA 1 , rest of world 0.

Ah, the inner boy 😊

THERE WAS PACKING!!

There do seem to be lots of chargers!

WHERE WAS FREDDIE

Having bonded very quickly with Freddie, (we often like to watch a spot of telly together):

Freddie suffered the indignity of being packed … ☝️

  1. Next time I read a blog, Hopefully it wont disappoint me just as much as this particular one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read, however I actually thought youd have something helpful to say. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something you could possibly fix if you were not too busy looking for attention.
